Narcissus’ Lake is a site-specific performance at a pilot site at the Watson Road Sitting-out Area. The neglected public space is located at the end of Watson Road, a cul-de-sac next to the bustling Eastern Corridor Highway. The unusually white sitting out area resembles a gallery space and reframed as a personal space by timber frames with white fabric. Projections of ripples flow with the delicate moves of the dancer, turning the choreographed space into Narcissus’s Lake, reinterpreting a key scene in the novel, in which the protagonist reflects on his own existence and representations.
