The major donor of the literature collection is Prof. Lo Wai-luen (小思) , an acclaimed literary scholar, educator and writer. She donated some 20,000 books and research materials and established the collection. The undulating bookshelves allows daylight to pass through and shimmers as one move along between them. The form also subtly echoes the concept of history and education of literature as meandering water coined by Prof Lo, with reference to the preface of the renowned poetry collection Lantingji Xu (蘭亭集序).&nbsp; The layout with circular bookshelves&nbsp; rebrand the literature hub with a strong identity and to define different zones and circulation. With the Japanese structural engineer we developed the unique diagrid structure with reference to Shukov Tower that allows transparency unlike conventional shelves. the project allows for opportunities where students can meet and encounter, to learn from each other through the way the architecture is designed. With the concept of open-plan garden landscape with different ‘follies’ as spatial anchors and clusters of study tables, students can always find a space that suits their study needs. The balcony and indoor rooms with skylights creates a sense of connection to the outdoors throughout the whole space. The insertion of the structurally challenging thin floor plate would greatly transform the library from a sole archive and reading space into a vivid double-height space for cultural and social exchange.&nbsp; The schematic design was developed through hands on model making approach. The floor slab also defines areas for additional programs such as Design Innovation Hub and Cafe to suit different study needs. Due to the tight floor height, the slab is limited to 230mm thick, including services. I joined the project at detail development and construction stage, site works covers cladding, G-1/F Amenities and Penthouses that is located at the highest two levels. The bamboo scaffold installation embodies the construction method of the Ghost Festival bamboo theater. Displacement seeks to engage in the tradition that used to occupy the very site at Tin Chiu Street temporarily every year. The festival went on and off since North Point Estate was demolished and dwindled to a pause due to political events and the pandemic. The site-specific framework point to 3 axis, holding works outlining traces of displacement of 3 elements in the locale: the habitat, the altar and the spirit. Dis-place is an installation that is built and dismantled within a day and the process video documentation is on display. Residents had the choice to be relocated to Oi Tung Estate in Aldrich Bay. Displacement showcases a video work which is a remix of government footage of the relocation, documenting the process and residents’ thoughts at the time. Participants need to lie on a trolley cart to view the work installed under the bamboo platform. 2 The Altar After North Point Estate is demolished, an altar set up by the residents remained, shielded by a verdant tree at the waterfront. However with the construction of a pedestrian broadwalk, the altar also has to be relocated, uprooted from the tree with its back to the sea. The neglected public space is located at the end of Watson Road, a cul-de-sac next to the bustling Eastern Corridor Highway. The unusually white sitting out area resembles a gallery space and reframed as a personal space by timber frames with white fabric. Projections of ripples flow with the delicate moves of the dancer, turning the choreographed space into Narcissus’s Lake, reinterpreting a key scene in the novel, in which the protagonist reflects on
